Description
The Tofflemire Matrix Bands are thin, flexible stainless steel strips used with the Tofflemire Matrix Retainer to create a temporary wall around a tooth during Class II cavity restorations. They provide proper contour and help establish natural contact points while preventing restorative material from spreading beyond the prepared cavity. Available in various sizes, thicknesses, and shapes (universal, pre-contoured, pediatric), these bands are an essential component of restorative dentistry.
DIRECTIONS TO USE
Selection – Choose the correct size and shape band for the tooth being restored.
Placement in Retainer – Insert the band into the Tofflemire retainer and secure it.
Adaptation – Fit the band around the tooth, contouring it to replicate natural tooth anatomy.
Restoration – Place and condense restorative material against the band.
Removal – Carefully loosen the retainer and gently remove the band after curing.
Disposal – Safely discard the used band after the procedure.
