Description
Mani Gates Drills (No. 1–6) are high-quality stainless-steel rotary instruments manufactured by Mani, Japan, designed for coronal enlargement, straight-line access, and canal flaring during root canal treatment. These drills feature a flame-shaped head with a non-cutting guiding tip, ensuring efficient dentin removal while maintaining the natural curvature of the canal. Mani Gates Drills are ideal for enlarging the coronal and middle thirds of the canal, facilitating smoother and safer insertion of subsequent endodontic instruments such as Pesso Reamers or rotary NiTi files.
DIRECTIONS TO USE
Select the appropriate Mani Gates Drill (No. 1–6) based on the canal size and stage of preparation.
Mount the drill securely in a low-speed contra-angle handpiece.
Operate at low rotational speed (700–1200 rpm) using gentle apical pressure.
Work progressively from smaller to larger sizes to prevent canal damage.
Irrigate regularly to remove dentinal debris and maintain instrument efficiency.
Avoid excessive pressure or deep apical penetration to prevent perforation.
After every use, clean and sterilize as per standard endodontic infection control protocols.
Replace drills when they show signs of wear, dullness, or distortion.
