Description

The Root Elevator Coupland – E2C is a straight-pattern dental elevator designed for controlled luxation and elevation of teeth and retained roots during extraction procedures. It is used to sever periodontal ligament fibers, expand the alveolar socket, and create mobility prior to forceps application.

The E2C variant features a slightly broader and stronger working blade compared to smaller sizes, making it suitable for moderate to firm root structures. Its straight shank design allows effective transmission of controlled leverage while maintaining precision and tactile sensitivity.

Manufactured from high-grade surgical stainless steel, the instrument provides long-term durability, resistance to corrosion, and compatibility with standard autoclave sterilization cycles. It is suitable for both routine and surgical dental extractions.

Direction to use

Confirm indication for extraction through clinical and radiographic evaluation.

Administer appropriate local anesthesia.

Reflect gingival tissue if necessary to improve access.

Insert the elevator blade between the root surface and alveolar bone.

Seat the blade along the long axis of the tooth or root.

Apply controlled rotational or levering force to sever periodontal ligament fibers.

Gradually expand the socket by applying steady, controlled pressure.

Repeat around the circumference of the root if required.

Proceed with forceps once adequate mobility is achieved.

Clean, disinfect, and sterilize according to standard autoclave protocols before reuse.
